About the Study
SurgWeek-2 is a prospective, international, multicenter study designed to evaluate the global burden and variation in postoperative complications.
The study builds on the success of SurgWeek-1, which included more than 140,000 patients from 116 countries in 2020, providing updated baseline data in the post-COVID-19 era.
Data Collection Window
From 31 August 2026 to 11 October 2026, encompassing six separate 7-day data collection periods.
Hospitals may participate in one or more periods depending on local capacity.
